01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated on the charming C. dos 28 street in Acacias, Benito Juárez, Gebel Café offers a delightful culinary experience that perfectly blends the casual comfort of a coffee shop with the satisfying heartiness of a breakfast restaurant and cafeteria. This inviting café embraces a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere, enhanced by its scenic terrace that overlooks a lush park—an ideal setting for both social gatherings and quiet escapes.

Gebel Café’s menu is a celebration of rich flavors and quality ingredients, with a tempting array of pizzas and pastas that showcase their dedication to fresh, handcrafted dishes. Imagine savoring an 8-slice Pizza de Pastor, layered with tender carne al pastor, sweet pineapple, crunchy purple onion, and fresh cilantro, or indulging in a comforting Pasta Ragú that features a rich sirloin tomato sauce, kissed with olive oil and topped with fragrant oregano and freshly grated parmesan. For those craving creamy indulgence, the Pasta Alfredo promises a luscious, velvety sauce that clings to your pasta of choice.

The café doesn’t stop there. Their specialties elevate the dining experience further—particularly the Pechuga a la Parmesana, where a perfectly breaded chicken breast is smothered in marinara and mozzarella, served alongside buttery spaghetti al burro, melding textures and flavors that deliver pure comfort. Another highlight is the Baguette Gebel, packed with succulent roast beef, a zesty touch of mustard, and molten provolone cheese, paired with crispy potato chips and a robust jus — a handheld feast that’s both satisfying and sophisticated.

Gebel Café’s atmosphere invites you to linger. Multiple visitors praise its cozy, unpretentious charm, especially the terrace overlooking the park, which provides a serene backdrop for your meal. Many recommend grabbing a seat outside to soak up the fresh air and vibrant surroundings, especially during their popular Thursday jazz nights that blend delightful live music with unforgettable cuisine.

Guests consistently highlight the warm, attentive service that complements the rich sensory experience—from the aroma of freshly brewed coffee to the enticing sight of their signature carrot cake, a must-try indulgence that punctuates any visit perfectly. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee and tiramisu or settling in for a hearty breakfast, Gebel Café warmly welcomes you to savor the flavors of Mexico City away from the more hectic neighborhoods.

Cozy cafeteria Surprisingly or Blessedly not in Condesa or Roma. The service is good, atmosphere in front of the park gives you a nice view. I recommend to sit in the terrace to have the whole experience. On Thursday they have jazz night. Please no forget to order a slice of the carrot cake.

To anyone visiting Mexico City this is a place you must go. The food is excellent, the servers very polite and the restaurant is very cozy. Is located in front of a beautiful park with the most amazing balcony to eat a great breakfast or dinner. Don't miss this restaurant.

Nice setting and exceptional service, the lunch options are good for the price. Unfortunately the breakfast is very expensive for what you get and the options are the same as any fondita. Why order chilaquiles and enchiladas for 200 pesos when one block away an old lady is making better ones for 65? I'd come back if they could diversify the menu options.

Great quiet location next to park. Delicious breakfast. Cappuccino tasted like watered down hot milk with no flavor. Service mediocre. No wifi, at least that what's one server told me although WiFi signal was there. A bit disappointing given the reviews but it's worth it just for the fabulous breakfast
